5 Things To Do In Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge is the perfect place to escape to if you want to feel clean and glamorous yet intellectual and brilliant. The place is rife with high end shops and superstores (think Harvey Nicols and Harrods) as well as museums, greenery and delicious restaurants and bars. Come pay day this list will fare you well. Make sure you book before you go!

1) The V & A

The Victoria & Albert museum founded in 1852 is a must visit for all those interested in the evolving nature of art and design and the intellectuality behind it. The exhibition that intrigues Neon the most is “Undressed: A brief History of Underwear” that uncovers the evolution of underwear design from the 18th century up until the present day. It provides insight into how the notion of the ideal figure has changed over time. The exhibition can be viewed from now until the 17th March 2017.

2) Afternoon Tea at Jumeirah Carlton Tower

To mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday,  Jumeirah Carlton Tower are hosting an Afternoon Tea in their beautiful Chinoiserie that features an array of pastries and savouries that hark back to British history. These include the Queen’s favourite treat as a child the strawberry jam sponge “penny” and a classic 70’s style Battenberg cake.

3) Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal began as a result of Heston’s fascination with historic gastronomy. When creating the menu he took advice from food historians and took inspiration from the dishes of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland. Treat yourself after a day’s shopping but remember you must book and save up (!) in advance.

4) Science Museum

Who doesn’t love the Science Museum? Attend award-winning exhibitions, view iconic objects and listen to stories of incredible scientific achievement. They open their doors late on the last Wednesday of every month for over 18’s. Check out ‘Lates’ to find out what they’re up to this month.

5) Tonteria

Describing itself as the ‘Mad Mexican Tapas Lounge and Tequila Nightspot’, Tonteria is not for the faint hearted. Once the night approaches the festivities begin with a ‘pumping’ DJ, theatrical entertainment from the Tonteria performers and a toy train that delivers drinks to your table.
