London Cocktail Week event at The Sun Tavern
Not that we need another excuse to visit our old favourite – The Sun Tavern – however this Wednesday 4th October is tipped to be one of autumn’s most sensational events as The Sun Tavern welcomes New York’s The Dead Rabbit for one night only.
Having taken the crowning glory as World’s Best Bar in 2016 and at Tales of The Cocktail in 2015, The Dead Rabbit is a world-renowned Manhattan drinking den so this international collaboration is one not to miss.
They’ve been over this side of a the Atlantic for a few months now – after a series of fruitful alliances thus far in 2017 including a takeover at Claridges and The Westbury in Dublin, they’re heading back east to The Sun Tavern to touch base with their strong Irish heritage once again.
The night will begin at 6pm and revelry will run through to midnight. Prepare to be getting that Uber home as the bespoke cocktail menu has been curated around Slane Whiskey (Brown-Forman). Jillian Vose, the savvy beverage director at The Dead Rabbit will tee up three cocktails of his own, to be accompanied by three of The Sun Tavern’s.
Vose’s guest shift behind the bar will also convoyed by a Cèilidh band with some classy, slapping Irish melodies, followed by a DJ set playing classic tunes from gigs that were held at Ireland’s Slane Castle. And yes, think big names: Bowie, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan. Get ready to drink and dance the night away.
Want more good news? Seeing as it’s London Cocktail Week, all the cocktails will only be £6. The seven-day festival that runs from Monday 2nd October to Sunday 8th October is the perfect opportunity to sample some of London’s finest beverages prepared by crafty mixologists at special prices. And we know precisely where we’ll be come Wednesday evening…
