LISTEN: Natty and the Rebelship – Release the Fear
Bob Marley famously said “When the music hits you, you feel no pain”. The sentiment behind these wise words is the effortless outcome when you listen to the music of Natty and the Rebelship.
The London born Roots musician embodies spirituality on stage, and has now released his second album ‘Release the Fear’ after a long hiatus travelling “It was over 7 years between my first 2 albums but thankfully touring and festivals have kept me on the road”.
Natty’s words share a personal sentiment with the listener, exploring his journey which began in 2012 when he became an independent artist and sought to experience the beauty of planet earth by travelling around the world and spending time in Jamaica.
The connections Natty experienced during his time travelling allowed his writing to take a much deeper meaning; from visiting Rastafarian elders, Amazon Shamans, African spiritual elders and sacred sites, Natty got in touch with ways of life he had never experiences and things he never imagined “All this as well as becoming a father, growing spiritually, producing music for other artists, writing more songs and other bits, as well as trying to promote positive vibrations without fear is what has shaped where I am at today as artist”. Suffice to say his experiences contributed a key part in ‘Release The Fear’ becoming an autobiographical concept album.
Natty and the Rebelship are now releasing their latest single featured in this video ‘SS I Love You’, a beautiful tale of a lover being asked to join Natty on a higher spiritual vibration so they can fly. The music is arranged in a way that gives a feeling of lift off!
“We have shot 2 videos for these songs, which tell the story on many levels. I was blessed to work with 2 very talented directors Bash Malik and Karina Stevens”
‘SS I Love You’ is now being released in conjunction with the album on Spotify for the first time from Natty’s own record label Vibes and Pressure. More than just a label, Vibes and Pressure host their own club nights and are currently finding a site for a festival.
Natty and the Rebelship along with Cali P and Sam Garrett in support are now embarking on their UK tour. Full details of the tour and their festival when they confirm a location will be available from: nattymusic.com
