Rosie Corcoran Exhibition at Asprey London
Between 4th-21st December, celebrated artist Rosie Corcoran becomes the first modern artist to exhibit her work in Asprey’s famous flag ship store. The luxury heritage brand based at its New Bond Street venue for over two hundred years will host Corcoran’s first major solo exhibition. The Bold & Beautiful show is a collection of stunning large scale wildlife drawings, directly inspired by her time spent travelling and living in India.
Whilst living in Dharamsala, Rosie came to discover the beauty and elegance of wild tigers in their natural habitat, and became deeply fascinated with them. Much of her previous work over the last decade has centred on these endangered animals in as they behave in their own environment. Rosie’s charcoal drawings depict not only their exquisite form, but her deep connection and understanding of the rare creatures. By highlighting the rarity of the species in Bold & Beautiful, Rosie hopes also to counteract the scarcity of the Indian tigers by raising money in support of the Wildlife Protection Society of India.
Thirty-two individual works make up the show at the Asprey store, including new portraits of African wild dogs. There will also be three limited edition silkscreen prints being released by the artist for the occasion. The funds raised will go towards the conservation of the Indian tigers by directly supporting the youth of a small community based on an island in the Sunderbans. Through education, the WPSI hopes to resolve the human-animal conflict in the region.
Rosie Corcoran’s work is largely driven by her desire to support the conservation of wildlife, which she hopes to raise awareness of in her new show. Visit the beautiful Asprey London store, located at 167 New Bond Street, between 4th December and 21st December to see Bold & Beautiful in place
